Algebra is a fundamental concept in Mathematics, which deals with equations, inequalities, fractions and expressions. Being one of the main branches of mathematics, it forms an whole part of primary education. combinatorial mathematics, variables, polynomials and factorization are some of the mainstream areas that is being dealt by mathematics. As you move along advance algebraic equations, you will deal with symbols and set theories which allows you to compute unknown values based on predetermined facts.

Algebra and its Link to Geometry

Geometry works on the complete use of algebra to graph a circle, a hyperbola, a parabola or even finding the focus of a hyperbola. Be it simple operations such as determining the endpoints of a line or finding the radius of a circle, to more complicated operations such as figuring out if a parabola opens up; algebra is most primary for geometry.

Solving Exponents and Equations in Algebra

Algebra can solve any equations from linear or quadratic to radical or exponential. With algebra one can solve inequalities and even graph systems of linear equations and fractional inequalities. If exponents have been troubling your head, a thorough grasp of algebraic expressions will ease the pain allowing you to work through it easily. Algebra works with the Laws of exponents by facilitating one to add, subtract, divide and multiply expressions with ease and assurance.

Simplify Fractions and Polynomials – Using Algebra Calculators

Whether you have problems in solving, comparing or converting fractions, algebra solvers can work their magic for you. The modern software that supports solving algebraic expressions are able to solve any math problem easily and in no time. Complex matrix equations like inverse matrix and other matrix operations can be handled with the algebra calculator software. Thanks to the algebraic solvers, simplifying algebraic expressions, which may involve factoring binomials or involves determination of the greatest common factor, has now been made a very easy job.

Professional Help Within Arm’s Reach

Students often get professional help from tutors who will provide you with a step-by-step answer for your problems. Math tutors are at your disposal for those complicated problems which can get you easily bugged. The math solver software that is widely available in today’s market provide myriad of options to suit a student’s every need. From calculators that cater to a specific type of algebra to ones that scan the entire scope of the subject, you will find a complete answer.

Algebra is the one which is used for getting our everyday tasks completed. The world forever keeps counting, measuring, dividing, and multiplying.

History of Algebra

Invented in the first millennium BC, algebra has its sources in the middle-east. The ancient brains used algebra for solving day-to-day problems while the Asian or rather Chinese counterpart used geometry for the same intention.

What is the Nature of Algebra?

Algebra is not just for solving formulas, it helps, simplifying rational expressions, and converting fractions to decimals, algebra has a much greater body of knowledge and applicability. Since this aspect has been understood, the education system forces us to learn algebra from the beginning of our pupil life.

Algebra I

The students are given an intro in this study course to numbers, solving linear equations, graphing systems of linear equations, graphing linear inequalities, laws of exponents, solving complex equations, and factoring polynomials. This course of study lays the foundation for the rest of the higher algebra waiting to be explored in the next two stages.
If a student is keen on learning algebra down to its roots, then this is the most significant study course.

Algebra II

Once the pupils are sound with Algebra I concepts, Algebra II can be taken up for expanding the spectrum of this incredible segment of mathematics. There are two aspects of Algebra II; stressing more on the topics studied in Algebra I and introduction to new concepts. When it comes to the new introductions, adding and subtracting matrices, quadratic functions, resolving exponential equations, probability and statistics are important.
At this stage, the subject fields are more weighted on the depth of mathematical constructs rather than the coverage of many topics.

College Algebra

This is one of the most crucial degrees of learning Algebra with virtually no new topic brought in. I assume it is rather funny, but this is the nature of mathematics. Do you know why mathematics is called the queen of all scientific disciplines ? That’s because of the irregular nature of mathematics!

How to get assistance on Algebra?

Algebra has the most broadened methods and tools available for getting help. The first and the foremost key source is an Algebra tutor from whom you can get help and assistance.
In addition to books, one should never undervalue the use of Algebra software program that is particularly designed to solve algebraic problems with informative steps. This computer software really contributes insight in to Algebraic procedures of solving equations , by allowing students to simply watch and learn through examples.

What is Algebra?

Maths has been one of the less popular subjects in American schools. Although children in other countries graduate with excellence in mathematics, most of the common high school age students in the United States scratch their heads when presented questions about converting fractions to decimals, converting measures and units, resolving radical inequalities, or solving radical equations. This situation is universal across the United States. Algebra consists of various complex mathematical equations that it is easy for a student to get lost when expected to explain synthetic division or adding radicals . For that matter, algebra is mostly based on using letters to substitute for numbers. While this isn’t extremely complex in and of itself, it brings itself poorly to the ‘jump in and play’ aspect of some mathematics. Simply talking, if a individual is supposed to perform a particular algebraic task, he or she should be aware of the algebraic tasks that led to it. This is to say that Algebra is a procedure that expects mastery of every step in order to move on. A student can’t hope for finding square root radicals and roots when he or she has not mastered proportions and ratios, or converting measures and units.

Technological Assistance for Algebra:

While this is not a recent development, it appears that math grades have slipped even further in recent years. The fault can be ascribed to many parties, but no solution will come out as a result of blame game. There have been just a fistful of external assistance available for students to enhance maths skills when out of the classroom. What little software or program there was, more geared towards assisting younger children grasp the concepts of arithmetic. Luckily, the market for such a product has coincided with the technology essential, permitting an influx of ‘algebra software program‘ or ‘algebra solver‘ programs that allow the mastery of algebra to anyone who is equipped with primary computer knowledge.

Algebra Software Packages:

There are different algebra calculators available and they vary depending on for what they have been developed for. Some may provide some features as graphing a circle, or solving simultaneous equations, but may not have the programming necessary for solving exponential equations or adding exponents . It is up to the user to ask upon what is available in the particular program, although nearly all these software packages advertise their features. The best bet for anybody who is interested in computer help for subtracting rational expressions or converting decimals to fractions; essentially, whatever particular requirement you would have, is to refer the World Wide Web and explore the product in question.

I am beginning to wonder if scientists have been getting it all round. All this time, people have been worried about the Ozone, a giant asteroid, or some breakout of a bio-hazardous agent by a terrorist organization being the doom of mankind. We have spent all this time looking outward instead of inward towards ourselves.

The latest studies have identified to startling facts. 1 – that the whole in the Ozone layer is getter smaller, and 2 – that the brightness levels on the earth our getting dimmer. Does this all mean that Global Warming was all just a sham? That those corporations who continue to abuse our earth with reckless abandon have been right all along? That tree-hugging hippies have had their brains melted from too much LSD?

Scientists seem to be getting dumber in direct proportion to the grants given by governments, which are lobbied by corporate interests, increases. They have looked at the new Global Dimming phenomenon and said, “It can’t be getting warming with less sunlight!” And no doubt that as this new story makes it rounds about the Ozone getting smaller, they will point to the great job done by their benefactors and reducing Green House emissions and say that the Ozone must be replenishing itself.

Statements like those should be judged as criminal, just as tobacco companies should be held accountable for the deaths of all their consumers. The population must be made aware of the truth behind their corporate agenda. We, the working class, are the ones that can control our future, and dictate to those Ozone depleting companies our new terms. We demand clean air. We demand that pollutants stop being poured into our waters. We demand our forests not be cut down faster than we can replant. We demand alternate, safer energy sources to heat our homes, and power our vehicles. We demand all this because our Earth is dying before our own eyes.

The whole in the Ozone layer has gotten smaller, but at the cost of thinner protection worldwide. We are not just talking about a gap over Antarctica. We are talking about more harmful radiation being let in on a yearly, monthly, daily basis. We used to be able to send out our children to play outside all days. No one needed any sunscreen with special UV protection. Now, one has to only go outside for 20 minutes before feeling the sting of the sun, while sunscreen has become big business. No one will react until research tells us 15 to 30 years from now that cancer has reach epidemic proportions. The warning signs are there already, we are just choosing not to listen.

Global Dimming is the best example yet. Scientists have started to look at how it has become increasing dimmer on the planet. Sunlight is not getting through as it once used to. It is only normal to think that whatever is keeping the sunlight out, must be keeping the heat in. And whatever is keeping the sunlight out is not necessarily providing us with a layer of protection. More likely, it is beginning to coat our planet with more harmful cancer causing radiation.

While I do not profess to hold a degree in science, I do profess to hold common sense. All science has done is identify several situations, but has done nothing to confirm how we got their, and what we need to do to get back to where we were. My belief is that there may be too much corporate interference for any decisive action to be taken. And for the companies who will continue to pollute our environment that is as good as winning. The worst thing that we can do as a population, is not add Global Dumbing to the list. Get smart, take action. You may not be able to make a difference individually, but together, you can effect change. We may always live in a world that separates the rich from the poor, but that does not mean that we have to accept how those in power secure their wealth.

Take public transit
By hybrid cars. Create the market and force companies to move away from their alliances with Oil Companies, and forge new ones with alternate energy sources
Get more active, in physically, with your family, and in your community
Read labels and ask questions
Write to your representative

Did you know that Black Hills Spruce trees have dark, dark brown bark and dark, dark green needles which are their leaves. From afar, it takes surprisingly few of any evergreen tree to appear black. It takes even fewer of the Black Hills Spruce trees together to make an apparently black forest. Yes, the Black Forest of Bavaria in Germany is named for it’s evergreen trees. One-third of the Black Forest today is Spruce, and Pine trees are close behind at 30%. Evergreen trees are (for)ever green, but none is more deeply, darkly green than mountain area Spruce trees like the Black Hills Spruce. There are no species of European Spruce trees named for the Black Forest, but the Rocky Mountains’ Spruce trees which have remained for millions of years in the Black Hills were named well.

So, guess what percent of the trees covering the Black Hills are Black Hills Spruce trees? The Ponderosa Pine tree, also known as the Western Yellow Pine tree makes up over three quarters of the area’s trees, 76%! Would you believe just 4% of the trees in the Black Hills are Black Hills Spruce Trees? Yeesh.

Spruce trees are not just valuable as evergreen trees suitable for rich, year ’round, dark green color from their dense needle-leaves, and of course, for Christmastime.

One of our customers worked at the Homestake Gold Mine after graduating from college. Left over from the 1876 Gold Rush to the Black Hills of South Dakota, where George Custer was supposed to chase away the prospectors bothering the Sioux Indians, but instead tried the opposite and got himself killed, the Homestake Gold mine is still operating today. The mine is a great tourist attraction, ranking right up there with Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain, the indoor hot springs pool in the town of, well, Hot Springs. The Homestake Mine has produced more gold than any other mine in the entire western hemisphere, including the huge open-pit surface mines of Nevada.

Guess what species of tree from the forest of the Black hills has been favored for the timber supports and structures down in the mine all these 120-odd years ? It was the aptly named Black Hills Spruce, because the Spruce wood is better able to stand up to being constantly bumped and being constantly wet (you wouldn’t believe just how wet underground mines are our customer tells us) than the far more locally common Ponderosa Pine wood.

How about that? If you want to mine your property with an underground operation, you’ll be able to cut down your mature Spruce trees in just 30 years after you plant the seedlings you bought from SeedlingsRus, or maybe just half that time, 15 years, if you get 6-foot saplings. Planting seedlings

All people handling seedlings need to help with the life support of your plants. Seedlings are like fish out of water and need care which is often overlooked between the time the seedlings are lifted and transplanted. Improper care means higher mortality. Do not try and reinvent the wheel. You must protect seedling from moisture and temperature extremes, as well as physical damage. Seedlings are living and should be handled carefully. For a higher survival rate, treat trees carefully and plant them immediately. I like to have a backup plan for planting if the weather turns bad. I will sometimes switch from lining out the seedlings to potting them up if I realize that the soil conditions will not be right for an extended lenght of time. If planting must be delayed a few days, keep the plants in a cold, protected place with air circulation between the trees. Keep the trees out of the rain and wind. To check if the trees need water, feel the media at the roots.. If it isn’t damp, water the trees and allow the excess water to drain. In cool, damp weather, the biggest threat to these trees is from mold. Try to keep out of soil seedlings moist by either restricting water loss with a water vapor barrier or by wetting the roots at regular intervals. While handling or planting try to reduce temperature and air movement around the seedlings. Windy days can dry out seedlings so consider waiting for calmer weather. Once your soil conditions are correct OUR FREE USE PLANTERS will make planting a snap so its will be worth waiting for good planting conditions.

HOW TO PLANT

Ideal planting days are cool and cloudy with little or no wind. If possible, avoid planting on warm, windy days. The soil should be moist not wet. Care in planting is more important than speed. Make sure the roots are never allowed to become dry. Bare root seedlings should be carried in a waterproof bag or bucket with plenty of moist material packed around the roots to keep them damp. Ideally, bare root boxes should be kept refrigerated or packed in ice or snow. Don’t freeze the trees. Competition from weeds, grass, brush or other trees is very detrimental to survival and growth of seedlings. Choose areas free from this competition or clear at least a three-foot square bare spot before planting. Seedlings should not be planted under the crown of existing trees, or closer than 6 feet to existing brush. Avoid areas near walnut trees. Brush aside loose organic material such as leaves, grass, etc., from the planting spot to expose mineral soil. If organic matter gets into the planting hole, it can decompose and leave air spaces. Roots will dry out when they grow into these spaces. Open up the hole, making sure the hole is deep enough for the roots to be fully extended. If roots are curled or bunched up, the tree will not be able to take up water correctly, will often weaken and die, or may blow down later due to poor root structure. Take a tree out of your planting bag or bucket only after a hole is ready. When exposed, the fine roots can dry out in as little as 30 seconds. Seedling shoots and roots lose water to air, roots require more protecting.Unlike leaves ,they do not have stomata (closeable openings on the surface of the leaves) or any waxy coatings to help reduce water loss. If the roots apear dry they are probably dead. Now I know you are thinking,”I will place them in a buckect of water and store them there until planting”. This will not work. Submerge plants for no longer that a couple of minutes. Placing them in water cuts them off from oxygen. Remember to remove the container before planting a containerized tree. A helpful hint to all those new gardeners just starting is to remember to always plant green side up. Hold the seedling in place in the hole, making sure the roots are straight, fully extended and that the tree is neither too shallow or too deep in the hole. Fill hole, allowing soil to fall in around the roots. Tamp with hands or with your heel. Don’t crush the roots by jumping up and down around the seedling like there is a snake curled up around the seedling. It is delicate. Fill with more soil, if necessary, and tamp. Tamping is important. If soil is not firmly packed around the roots, there will be air pockets that can dry out the roots, and the seedlings may be weakly anchored. It is far easier to plant the tree strait up then have the tree leaning and have to staiten the tree later. (Addition of fertilizer and plant vitamins at the time of planting is not generally necessary.) Take your time in planting. Proper spacing will help you grow a more valuable crop. I have tried to get more production from a limited area by over planting and then thinning, but I always have had trouble in harvesting …. digging is slower and poor quality usually results for a portion of the crop. Avoid these tree planting errors:

Tangled roots Planting too shallow Planting too deep Air pockets Turned up roots (this is called J rooting) Planting trees that are not tolerant of wet soils in poorly drained areas Planting over rocks, septic tanks and leach fields, on sand mounds

CARE OF TREES FOLLOWING PLANTING Check periodically to be sure that brush, grass and other vegetation is kept under control by mowing, mulching, spraying or a combination of these treatments. Always obtain advice from a licensed pest control advisor before using chemicals. You ag extension agency may offer courses in application of chemicals. Monitoring the appearance of your trees will help you to detect signs of insects, diseases or other problems. Apperances also help sell your product. Look for foliage turning yellow, new foliage drooping or other signs of poor health. It is easier to take successful corrective action if the problem is detected early.

Over watering is a common problem in irrigated plantations. You probably won’t need to water more frequently than every 7-10 days. Give your trees a thorough, deep soak and then let the soil dry out before the next watering. This encourages the roots to grow down in search of water. Frequent, shallow watering encourages root growth near the surface and the trees are more dependent on irrigation and are less windfirm. Read about water saving ideas for gardeners

Animals can be a major cause of damage to young trees. Porcupines, gophers, mice, rabbits, deer and cattle are the most frequent source of damage. In many states you may have to call your game commission and get their recomendations on legal methods to protect your crop. In our state, you can get help from the Pa. Game Commission to kill deer that are a threat to your seedlings or obtain a free fence to keep deer away from your seedlings. Over the years we have lost more trees to mice than any other animal. Put rat baits out on a regular basis. Other articles that you will find of interest:

Just because oil and gas prices are reaching astronomical heights, we do not have to suffer for it. Just as there are practical solutions to beating the high prices at the gas pump, there are also practical solutions for high electrical prices.

When consumers find that it is very expensive to drive their automobiles to work, they have to turn to using public transportation, carpools, walking, biking, going hybrid, or even working from home. Ahhh, problem solved for the gas tank issue! But how would consumers solve the issue of high energy or high electrical bills, though? Today, it is as if the multi-billion dollar energy suppliers that control our lives – regulating how much we must spend to warm our homes in the winter and cool it off in the summer. Even when we can’t afford the cost, we manage to pay for it, because we have to. This usually comes from cutting back and sticking to budgets, when utility prices start squeezing us like a Python.

Budgeting or moving in with neighbors, family, or friends creates a situation where you split everything right down the middle to have a roof over your head. Is that the American dream or the way of the future?

There is a solution for dealing with sky-rocketing utility costs: go solar!

That’s right, solar power to the rescue! Just like Superman coming to save the day, the sun’s energy is the “other” resource for consumers. Just as there was a bailout for Wall Street, the sun’s everlasting solar energy is the bailout plan for homeowners, when it comes to economizing. This resource option is a dream come true; after all, the sun does more than just shine. As a child, we learned the benefits of the sun and the power it has to energize the earth. This wasn’t a fairytale. The same is true today. Energy has been around since God said, “Let There Be Light.”

They say that everything comes with a price, but energy from the sun is a totally free resource. The only expense to consumers is the device for transporting and converting energy, such as solar power, wind power, and geometrical power into a usable commodity such as electricity. The devices used to generate electricity are solar panels, wind mills or turbines, and satellites.
