A Neutral Review of the Apple iPad 2

Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

Apple is well known for being innovators in technology both for computers and smartphones and the Apple iPad 2 serves as a sort of combination of the two. The iPad 2 is the latest version of the device that caused quite a stir when it was released in 2010. The focus of this review is going to be both the benefits and the drawbacks of the Apple iPad 2 without taking whether you purchased the first generation or waited for the second. Battery life is a serious factor in any kind of portable device because there may not always be an electrical outlet available where you want to use the device. Besides that, it is nice when you own something like an iPad and you don’t have to worry about plugging it in if you don’t feel like it. The battery life of the original iPad was 10 hours, which is quite impressive considering all the things you can do on it. Offering added RAM and additional features such as a camera, the iPad 2 still has about the same amount of battery life and there are some tests that say it is a bit longer. Not having to plug in your iPad when you want to watch a few videos or if you need to go on a long plane ride make is very convenient. The RAM in the iPad 2 is 512MB, which is double that of the original model. For many everyday uses, the difference in memory won’t be that noticeable, but for playing games and other functions that use up lots of RAM, it’s quite significant. Things like watching videos, editing videos, going through photos, etc use up lots of memory so having double the memory capacity makes the device quite a lot more powerful and capable of lots of stuff. Sure it’s not totally perfect but there are still a lot of reasons to buy an Apple iPad 2. As long as you don’t miss the capability of flash or expect a whole lot from either of the cameras, you can still have a perfectly fun time browsing the internet, watching videos and using FaceTime to video chat with your friends. You shouldn’t rely on the Apple iPad 2 as your primary electronic device, but you can do lots of interesting and enjoyable things on it all the same. Photographer Jobs
